How each fee is worked out
Published UK rates for standard sellers, checked in October 2026. Promoted listings, subscriptions, VAT and currency conversion aren't included, and marketplaces change their fees, so check before you rely on a figure.
- eBay
- Business sellers: 11.9% final value fee + 0.35% regulatory fee on item and postage, plus 30p per order (40p over £10). Private sellers pay nothing.
- Vinted
- No seller fees. The buyer pays for Buyer Protection.
- Depop
- No selling fee in the UK. Payment processing is 2.9% + 30p on item and postage.
- Etsy
- 6.5% transaction fee, 4% + 20p payment processing and 0.48% regulatory fee, all on item and postage. Excludes the 20¢ listing fee.
- Vestiaire Collective
- 12% commission (£10 minimum) plus 3% payment processing (£3 minimum), on the item price.
- Shopify
- Shopify Payments on the Basic plan: 2% + 25p per online card payment.
- WooCommerce
- Stripe standard UK cards: 1.5% + 20p per payment. Sales paid through Stripe or WooPayments use the real fee.
